the rightway foundation posts
working with the rightway foundation, a nonprofit that strives to help newly emancipated foster youth in LA, was the basis of my capstone class. we created a PR campaign to draw students who are interested in social justice into helping the nonprofit. my group had five people in it including myself, and we had about two months to research, plan, implement, and evaluate our campaign. no budget was provided for the project, so we worked with our resources to create something effective.
to cover the social media aspect of the campaign, we decided to call out the shocking statistics involved in the homelessness to foster care pipeline. we used the nonprofit’s colors and fonts, so we didn’t have much control there. i still think the end result was impactful and informative, which was our goal.
